RAMALLAH (Ma’an) — The number of Palestinian women being held in Israel’s prisons has increased to 40 after thee minors were detained near Bethlehem earlier this week, the head of the Palestinian Authority Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs said Saturday.Issa Qaraqe said that Israel’s women’s prison, HaSharon, was now overcrowded, and Israeli authorities had decided to move three female prisoners to Ashkelon jail.He said that Israel was holding nine Palestinian girls younger than 18, who he identified as Marah Bakir, Istabraq Noor, Hiba Jubran, Hadil Kalbiya, Nour Salameh, Dina Sbeih, Lynne al-Hih, Shurouq Dwayyat, and Jihan Ereiqat.He said that six female prisoners also remained wounded after they were shot by Israeli forces at the time of their arrest.
